So far, Sandra and I have had two Core (small group) meetings where we've met about fifteen amazing young women. All of them have been so excited to be a part of a group that is all about building strong spiritual friendships and growing in faith. But Sandra and I are only two people, and our goal is to minister one-on-one to every girl who comes to our group. That's a lot of one-on-ones!
Last Friday, I started Focus on Jesus with two different girls. FOJ is the one-on-one study that many of us in Focus use to teach other about Jesus. It has ten lessons, and we will meet once a week to discuss them. I hope to start FOJ with some other girls who have been coming to Core, but if I do it with just half of them, that will be eight different studies to do! I'm so grateful that so many girls are anxious to learn about Jesus and grow in their faith, but I'm also nervous about whether or not I can handle it. Fortunately, in addition to all of the new girls in Core, God has also provided lots of amazing women in our ministry who can help pick up the slack. I am so blessed to be a part of a ministry team with the united goal of making and maturing disciples.
Fall Camp is coming up this weekend! Fall Camp is the first major Focus event of the academic year, and I am totally pumped! This is a great opportunity for all of the new people in our ministry to connect, solidify friendships, and really get a taste of what Focus is about. I can't wait to spend this extra time with the girls in Core. Please pray for our camp this weekend!
